So you have made that big decision to leave behind the snow and you are going to move to Florida in 2020. Here are some insights into the 5 best places to live, one of which might be more attractive to you than another.

The Florida Panhandle, also North West Florida is home to the State Capital of Tallahassee. Known for it’s quaint beach towns and interesting attractions, with a wide range of military bases, Pensacola is largely a military-friendly community with a small population of around 53 thousand. Pair that small town feel with access to the white sandy beaches on the Gulf Coast and top rated schools, this is an ideal city for a young family or military family. The cost of living in Pensacola is cheaper than the US average due to the median home price being around $144,000.

North Florida. Jacksonville is the most populated city in Florida and one of the largest in the US. Jacksonville is named after Andrew Jackson, the 7th United States President. Jacksonville is known for it’s robust city life paired with a cost of living lower than Florida’s average. There is a difference between the climate in North Florida and South Florida. Restaurants and shops and entertainment are plentiful and known for it’s culturally Southern atmosphere and Historic Landmarks and beaches. The cost of living in Jacksonville is also 3.5% lower than the National average. Moving to Jacksonville could be right for you if you like Music and Art. It is home to a strong tradition of Jazz and Blues. The Jacksonville Jazz Festival is one of the largest in the country. It spans 15 blocks downtown, features live Jazz, local food and a vibrant street atmosphere, and it’s free. If you enjoy shopping local, the Art Walk could be your cup of tea.

Central Florida, Orlando. Central Florida is home to Disney World, Universal Studios and the Kennedy Space Center. It’s population is just under 292,000. Day trips are a breeze, but the population swells in the summer months when 70 million visitors show up at the theme parks. It gets very humid and rainy during the summer rainy season. Median price for single family homes is $270,000, well below the State median which is $439,000. Cost of living in Orlando is less than other cities like Fort Lauderdale and Miami. It’s easy to find jobs in Orlando because of the thriving tourist industry. There are numerous quaint towns dotted with lakes in the region as well as a large, well-established retirement community.

South West Florida. This region along the Gulf Coast is known for its beaches, subtropical landscape and winter resort economy. This is home to Tampa, St Petersburg, Naples, Sarasota and Fort Myers. It is known for museums, arts and theatre, as well as beautiful beaches. Residents of Tampa Bay enjoy both a laid-back lifestyle, and the amenities of a large metropolitan area that includes Professional Sports Teams, interesting museums and an array of entertainment and dining options. Naples is designed to provide you with a second home opportunity, so that you can enjoy the warmer seasonal weather and perks that come with that. Many activities are centered around golf. It could be the perfect place to retire. Naples is not known for amenities designed for kids, but rather a desirable area to retire.

This is the largest metropolitan area of the State. The South Florida lifestyle is one of the best, with some outstanding things it has to offer. Stunning beaches, boardwalks, beachside cafes, abundant water sports, parks, cultural and music festivals, arts districts, galleries, boutiques, private and public golf courses and so much more. Other notable reasons to come to South Florida are the Equestrian Events, namely in Wellington, a suburb of the Western Communities, 2nd home buyers, nightlife seekers, boating lovers, snowbirds, retirees and families seeking a suburban lifestyle to raise a family. Home prices vary considerably because of the size of this region.
