How to create a new library in Windows 10

Libraries collects folders that are stored in different places so you can browse them in one place. You can add or remove folders and drives for inclusion in the library of your choice.

This tutorial will show you how to create new library in Windows 10.

Create a new library using the New context menu

1. Open Libraries in File Explorer ( Win + E ).

2. Right-click or click and hold an empty area in the Libraries window, click New and select Library.

3. Enter the desired name for the new library.

4. Now, you can bring folders to the new library.

1. Open Libraries in File Explorer ( Win + E ).

2. Click the Home tab, click New item in the ribbon, and select Library.

Create a new library using the Include in Library context menu

1. Open File Explorer ( Win + E ) and browse to the folder you want to include in the new library.

2. Right-click or press and hold the folder, select Include in library> Create a new library .

Select Include in library> Create a new library

3. A new library will be created with the folder included and the new library will be named just like the included folder.

The new library will be named the same as the included folder

Note:

  • If you like, you can rename the new library to whatever you like.
  • You will also be able to include more folders in the new library.
