The town today

The Municipality of Zvornik is one of the 9 most developed municipalities in the Republic of Srpska. It is rightfully regarded as an urban, commercial, communicational, industrial, health, educational, sport, and cultural and tourist centre of the wider region of Birač and Podrinje.
The travelers consider the town to be special, with various architectures as an expression of different styles through the centuries and cultural diversity of inhabitants in 30 municipalities, who found their refuge in Zvornik.


It is located on the left bank of the river Drina, which has been an inspiration to many for centuries. In terms of the modern urban civilization, Zvornik is a small town, but with respect to requests of modern life, it is a contemporary town.
